About:
The CopterControl project is an attempt at solving some of the basic problems of flying robotics so that those interested in the hobby can move on to some of the more interesting ones. Specifically, this project targets low-cost comercially available equipment, and provides some basic APIs which hobbyists can use to build new applications.

Hardware Details:
The CopterControl project targets the E-flite Blade CX2 4-channel coaxial helicopter. Reasons for choosing this:

• Relatively low cost - ~$200 in local hobby shops, ~$160 online
• High availability - helicopter and parts can be found in most local and online hobby shops.
• Stable design - Coaxial helicopters are one of the more naturally stable helcopter designs
• High quality - The Blade CX2 hardware and electronics just work right out of the box
• LP5DSM hackability - The LP5DSM transmitter included with the Blade CX2 has an easily tappable serial interface.
